The epitome of freedom and excellence?
My picture of total bliss abroad
Made me despise every shoddiness at home
The grass looked greener on the other side

Unmasked,
The epitome of freedom and excellence?
My picture of total bliss abroad
Made me despise every shoddiness at home
The grass looked greener on the other side
All I see around is the blackness they call us
A ti si aso l’oju Egun
Unmasked,

It stares back in real time
Daring me to flow
In my own imagination

If it filled length n breath a kingdom
Makes no loud an impact
As an open folly in a breached pact
Once I was young and shallow
Now I am old ‘n a wiser fellow
I learned enough with cane and in shame
That age and wisdom are not one and same
In my opened bible I saw this clearly
Psalm 2;10 enjoins wise kings rule fairly
